Manage Stakeholder Relations for Northern Sewerage Project
The Northern Sewerage Project (NSP) involved the construction of 13 km of new sewer tunnels from Reservoir to Pascoe Vale. These new sewer tunnels located deep beneath Melbourne’s densely populated northern suburbs. NSP was a $650 million investment in Melbourne’s future and was completed ahead of time and under budget. This Water Project was an alliance between Melbourne Water, Yarra Valley Water, and John Holland, and it was critical to manage its stakeholder relations.
Darzin was used to manage all stakeholder relations during the construction phase. The software provided a way for the alliance members to secure a one source of truth in one system, save information in real time and stay updated on all engagement interactions.
The new sewer runs from Reservoir to Pascoe Vale and Essendon and connects to Melbourne’s existing sewerage system. It caters for Melbourne’s fast growing northern suburbs and will protect Moonee Ponds and Merri Creeks from sewage spills after heavy rain.
In order to manage stakeholder relations, it is important to understand how a good SRM software provides transparency and one source of truth for all members when engaging with the community. If you have any questions or comments about stakeholder management practices, contact us today.
